Chinedu is a comedian, actor and a writer, best known for his stand up appearances on television, internationally and around the United States. Most currently Chinedu can be seen on HBO starring in a short film The Big Chop alongside Simone Missick (Misty Knight, Luke Cage) and on the fifth season of Coming to the Stage (HULU). He was last seen on the TV comedy series The Mindy Project (FOX/HULU) and in the feature films “It’s A Party” and “#Twominutesoffame.” Chinedu also recently returned from a tour overseas performing for the US Troops stationed across the Middle East and a comedy tour of India.
Born and raised in south Los Angeles with direct Nigerian roots, Chinedu got his start in comedy after a friend in school repeatedly encouraged and dared him to try stand up. Chinedu, always down for a life change, told himself "Why not?" After a successful enough first show (didn't die) Chinedu became hooked; performing on every stage he could find at and around the University of California, Santa Barbara. After graduating college, Chinedu moved back to LA to pursue his entertainment dreams at night, as he worked as a Special Education Teacher in the day, before taking a leap of faith and leaving teaching after serving the inner city of Los Angeles for a few years.
A fews years later, Chinedu has established himself as a smooth, funny comedic presence performing regularly at some of the country’s most renowned comedy clubs. Including his local favorites: The Laugh Factory, The Hollywood Improv, The Comedy Union, The Comedy and Magic Club, The Westside Comedy Theatre, The Comedy Store and many more. As well as independently touring universities nationwide annually through his "Study Break" College Comedy Tour and touring with Damon Wayans Jr. (Let's Be Cops) and Yvonne Orji (Insecure) on the road.
Chinedu was also a top ten finalist in NBC’s Stand Up for Diversity competition, was featured on Kevin hart's LOL Network, on FUSE’s TV Stand Up and Deliver, Fox's Laughs, All Def Digital and more. Furthermore, his name can be seen on the credits as writer for a comedy project that was aired for SHOWTIME and has performed in multiple comedy festivals including Just For Laughs, Laughing Skull, Bridgetown, The Hell Yes Fest, San Louis Obispo, Brokechella, Weird Ass Comedy Festival + more.
Chinedu's overall goal is to make it 'big' to inspire others to chase their dreams and so hopefully spellcheck can start accepting this name.
